Ikkat or Ikat fabric is manufactured predominantly in Telangana (erstwhile Andhra Pradesh) and Odisha. The unique feature of these sarees is the use of tie and dye technique on the thread before it is woven. The hand dyed thread is tied together on the loom and woven to form trendy patterns that we term as Ikkat. Ikkat patterns are extremely trendy and used worldwide for apparel, accessories as well as for home linen.
